About 9Lives

I always knew when I was ready to work for myself that it would have to be something I really, really loved. My name is Bethany, I am fun with a bright and bubbly personality. For as long as I have known I have been addicted to cats, referred to as the crazy cat lady by my friends. I absolutely adore them! The playful ones, the shy ones and even the grumpy old cats that do not like too much fussing. Being around cats has always brought me happiness and I am very fortunate to have grown up around cats my whole life and I have three babies of my own.

Anyone who loves cats as much as I do, they will understand the importance of knowing their furry or their not so furry (in my case) friends are in safe hands. They are our family, or happiness and when you are away you need to be carefree in the knowledge at all their needs are being met. This is where I come in, I have worked previously for a pet sitting business in Manchester and I am fully insured and DBS checked. Not only is your friends in the best possible care I will also be able to assist you with any errands you might like me to do if your flight is delayed or you just need a helping hand watering your house plants. All house visits will be done in a discreet and un-marked van or car to ensure your discretion is met.

I offer a cat sitting service which is based in and around Bury, which is where I live so it means I am very flexible to any times or dates that you would like. I offer cat sitting in Bury, Heywood, Bolton, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Whitefield, Radcliff and Prestwitch and surrounding areas. I am also able to cater for hamsters, rabbit and Guinea pigs at an additional cost. If you have fish or an aquarium I am more than happy to feed your fish.

The main aim I wish to achieve by starting this business is that the owners are happy, the cats are content and the clients who I gain will value my service and return to me as a long term cat sitter. I cannot wait to meet your furry friends and I am so very excited to meet some amazing kitties that will put a big smile on my face.

All cat visits will not be via the presence of a car with no advertising logos and normal clothes will be worn to cat visits due to discretion.

Hope to meet your felines very soon!

FAQ

  • How do I get started?
When you decide to use our services for the very first time we will arrange a complimentary visit to your home at a mutually convenient time. This enables me to meet and understand you and your pets. We can then check through your requirements and pets routine, you can inform me of your pets likes/dislikes favourite toys, games, dietary requirements, medication your pet may be on or any other requirements you may have. We can then go through the paperwork and arrange for your first cat sitting visit
  • Why choose a cat sitter?
Pets get to stay in their own environment with familiar sights and smells around them and can continue to enjoy their own routine while avoiding the transport/travel trauma associated with going to catteries. Also minimises exposure to illness from other animals. Most of all happy, contented pets and peace of mind for you. I know from previous experiences, my cats did not like the cattery. When I went to pick them up, they looked so down in the dumps. However, they enjoyed the stimulation of my regular cat sitter and the pictures he sent me playing with them painted a thousand words.
  • Do I need to leave anything out for the visit?
It would be really helpful if a dustpan and brush and any cleaning products required are left out so can ensure all feeding and litter tray areas are kept clean, if you could also leave plenty litter and food supplies this will help massively and save us having to purchase extra supplies in your absence.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, BACS transfer or if you are a package customer I can provide details for you to set up a standing order. Payments for services is payable either at your consultation or left me for me when I visit your kitty.
  • Is your company insured?

Yes of course, I take my business seriously and hold full liability insurance. I am also fully DBS checked. I am a registered key holder with the local authority.

  • What happens in an emergency?
This is very unlikely to happen which is the first factor to consider. I would assess the situation and call you to obtain your instructions. If in the event I could not get hold of you and your pet required medical attention I would take your pet to your nominated veterinary practice or depending upon our location/circumstances a vet in the locality.
  • If I’m not in how do you get in to care for my pets?
Most of our regular customers take advantage of our complimentary key holding service which comes in handy if you ever misplace your keys, one quick call and I can be there asap. If however you choose not to use this service key collection is complimentary on your first booking so when I visit you for your pet consultation you may provide us with a set of keys which I will use for your booking but I will return the keys to your possession after the service. All future key collection and drop off is charged at £5.00 per trip.
  • What happens if I’m delayed coming back from holiday?
Delays are inevitable and you cannot return home on time as planned there is no need to worry, just let us know and I will continue to care for your pet until you return.
  • What area do you cover?
I am based in Bury and I cover Bury, Tottington, Ramsbottom, Radcliffe, Whitefield, Prestwich and surrounding areas. Please enquire as nothing is ever ruled out, not even the rural areas.
  • Do you work on weekend/ bank holidays?
Yes! There is no extra charge for visits on the weekends and they are charged at the same rate. Bank holiday visits are charged an extra £5 and £10 on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NYE.
  • Pet Sitting Prices
All fees for services must be paid in advance, for example at the consultation or left out for collection on the day the service commences. We accept cash and BACS payments. We do not accept cheques as this method of payment is soon to be discontinued. Customers using our services on a regular basis may set-up a standing order. There is no hidden charges and a full price will be quoted on application for any of our services. Visits on Bank holidays, Xmas, Boxing and New Year’s Day are charged at double rate. A visit to your home is priced at £10 per visit.
